Adhesives and Glue

Adhesives and glue are compounds that adhere or bond items together. They may come from all kinds of natural and synthetic sources. Most are extremely strong, and are very important to the construction and auto making industry as well as industrial applications.

Adhesives and glue are mostly gum and resin. The form a bond that when applied correctly can laminate just about any material. Some require as long as 24 hours to dry before the surfaces are held together.

The applications for adhesives and glue are extensive and include coatings and composite material such as those using carbon fibers and fiberglass reinforcement. The chemistry and range of commercially available variations allows cure polymers to be produced with a very broad range of specialties and properties. In general, epoxies are known for their excellent strength, chemical and heat resistance, good to excellent mechanical properties and very good electrical insulating abilities, but almost any property can be modified.
